HOW LONG HAS BEYOND ACTORS BEEN ESTABLISHED

Beyond Actors is a new company but our sister company Bubblegum was established in 1981

WHAT DO WE DO

Beyond Actors promotes actors in all areas of the Film and Television Industry including still photography, parades, television commercials, drama, film, mini series, musical theatre, corporate videos and voice-over work.

WHAT IS AN AGENT

An Agent in the entertainment industry acts as your representative when dealing with potential employers.  Your Agent works on your behalf to make sure that you receive the best possible rates of pay, to organise contracts and work permits and to make sure that all the conditions and guidelines in regard to working are met.   In return your Agent takes a commission out of the wage they have negotiated for you.  This commission can range between 10% and 20% depending on the type of work.  It should be remembered that the agent is NOT the employer but they work on your behalf to obtain the best for you by way of obtaining work and negotiating the terms and conditions of that work

HOW DO WE PROMOTE YOU.

As well as receiving a steady flow of briefs from casting agencies all over Melbourne and Australia, we are committed to catching up regularly with producers, directors and others to promote our individual actors.  

We make sure our main source of talent promotion – our website – is up to date at all times. 

HOW OFTEN WILL I  GET WORK

This is the million dollar question.  We can offer no guarantees in regard to how often you will work.  We do not know what work will come up from one day to the next, what our clients will want to advertise or what age groups or size etc. they will require.  However we do choose our actors carefully so that we can best represent them and our company.

HOW MANY ADULTS DO WE REPRESENT

Beyond Actors is a "Boutique" Agency representing a small select group of actors of all nationalities, religions, backgrounds and abilities. 

DO WE HAVE A CUT OFF POINT

Yes.  Our cut off point is between 100 and 150 actors.

CAN YOU OFFER GUARANTEES

No Agency can offer guarantees.  We do however promote you to the best of our ability and we will put you forward for all jobs that you are suitable for.  Ultimately our clients have the final say.  We are however a small Boutique Agency and we only take on actors who we think will get the work because if they don't get the work, then neither do we. 

WHAT AGES DO YOU REPRESENT

Beyond Actors represents Adults from 18 to 80 and beyond.

CAN YOU BE A MEMBER OF MORE THAN ONE AGENCY

No, you can only be represented by one agency at a time. We take on you on the understanding that you are not represented with another agency. It is your responsibility to inform us if this is not the case.

HOW MUCH COMMISSION DO YOU TAKE

We take between 10% and 20% depending on the type of work.

IS THE WORK DURING THE WEEK OR WEEKENDS

The large majority of the work is during the week and can be during school time. There is very little work done at weekends as loading apply to crew and talent.
Work, auditions and castings can be at any time. For this reason parents should be prepared to take their children out of school if necessary.

WHAT DO I GET PAID

As this varies from job to job, the fee structure is explained in detail to you at the time of each job together with all the relevant Tax requirements.

DO WE NEED TO SIGN A CONTRACT

Beyond has an Agreement that you sign when you join. It is a legally binding document however can be terminated subject to mutual agreement at any time. Our actors join the Agency usually for a minimum of 12 months which gives us the time to properly promote the you to our clients and the industry.

WHERE ARE INTERVIEWS CONDUCTED

Interviews are mostly conducted in Queens Rd, Melbourne.

It should be noted here that the majority of work is done around the inner city areas of Melbourne and therefore you should be aware that travelling will be involved.  We ask that you carefully consider whether you are happy to travel to Melbourne for castings, fittings, auditions, screen tests, wardrobe calls, photoshoots and television work BEFORE you go through the Application and Interview process.                                                               

WHAT ARE YOUR MEMBERSHIP FEES 

Our fee structure is $400 GST included. 

This includes joining fee, professional headshots, representation on our website and a three hour workshop which includes audition techniques. The workshop also shows us your capabilities as an actor.
